Piazza San Marco in Venice at Italy

Many tourists make a direct path to the Piazza San Marco, the large broad public square. This is the main meeting place in Venice and a well known tourist spot attraction. When you land at St. Marks you will see two round pillars. One is crowned with Saint Theodore and the other is topped with the lion of saint mark.

This is the only place that has the name square in Venice. The areas that are called square are known as campo.

This place is one of the lowest places in Venice and is almost flooded during high tides. The site is always covered with tourist and pigeons. The carnival atmosphere makes a warm pleasant to visit the place.
St. Mark’s Cathedral, the Doge’s Palace, the Campanile and several museums are the other tourist attraction in Piazza San Marco. It is a public square open all the year round. Though its attraction is opened throughout the year there are more restrictions on some schedules.
